Former Aamjiwnaang resident recognized by arts council

A former resident of Aamjiwnaang First Nation has received an emerging artist award from the Ontario Arts Council.

Montana Adams started drawing at a young age and started his formal training in the fine arts program at Fanshawe College.

Since graduating, Adams has stayed in London, where he splits his time between painting, drawing with charcoal, and tattoo design.

Adams sells his work online and through art vendors, craft shows and pow wows across the province.

He was selected for the award by Indigenous artist Arnold Jacobs and received $2,500.
