Police issued an alert late Monday afternoon asking for the public's help in locating 77-year-old Barbara Kidd. She went missing at around 3 p.m. in the area of Melrose Street in Sarnia.
The public has been credited by police for helping to locate the missing woman.
"Thank you to everyone who looked for her and called in her whereabouts," police said in a news release.
Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
