OPP seize $20K worth of drugs in Forest

Five people are charged after Lambton OPP seized over $20,000 worth of drugs from a residence in Forest.

Officers executed a search warrant at a George Street home on Friday.

They allegedly seized suspected cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl along with a prohibited weapon, electronics, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Randy Sherk, 35 of Forest, Becky Vanderwal, 36 of Brooke-Alvinston, Shane Smith, 31 of North Middlesex, Luke Chelchowski, 39 of Middlesex Centre, and Sylvie Baron, 37 of Southwest Middlesex, are all charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say Sherk is also charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The suspects appeared in Sarnia court on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
