Underground fault causes power outage in Sherwood Village

Nearly 400 Bluewater Power customers in the southeast part of Sarnia lost service around 7 a.m. Thursday.

CEO Janice McMichael-Dennis said power flickered for about 1,000 customers and 379 lost electricity.

"The resulting outage from that fault saw about 400 customers lose power in the Sherwood Village area," said McMichael-Dennis. "It appears to be an underground fault which is a bit more tricky to deal with than overhead faults."

Power was also off for about 14 customers in Penhuron Lane in Bright's Grove just before 7 a.m.

All customers had service restored by the noon hour.
