Lambton College hosts fall open house

Lambton College is set to welcome hundreds of potential students to its fall open house on Saturday.

Enrollment Initiative Coordinator Shawn Fowler said it's a great opportunity to tour their world-class facilities.

"We have a variety of opportunities that potential students can take advantage of, including meeting their potential program coordinator and faculty, attending a variety of different info sessions," said Fowler. "We have one on financial aid, so they can learn about funding their future."

Fowler said a technology forum, featuring a lineup of presentations from local plant managers, including representatives from NOVA Chemicals, Suncor Energy and Bruce Power, will headline the event.

"We bring in employers from various companies and different industries to really showcase all of the careers and technology that's available to them. We also have career options workshop to really go over some of our career services and co-op opportunities as well."

Fowler said the open house includes the college's events centre, residence, Skilled Trades Training Centre and the fire school on Lasalle Line.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the technology forum starting at 10:30 a.m.
