Florence Library reopening following fire

The County of Lambton says the Florence Library is reopening on Tuesday evening after being heavily damaged by fire in August.

The facility will be open regular hours, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The space has been outfitted with replacement shelving, furnishings, computer equipment, books and materials.

The county says not all library resources will be available right away.

Staff is still working to set up the public computer workstations and to get the full collection of books and materials in place by the end of the week.

The library is also open on Thursdays from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays.

The Shetland Library is also returning to regular hours. It's open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The cause of the August fire was traced back to a computer.
