UPDATE: New York man killed in 402 crash

A 38-year-old man from New York State has been identified as the driver of a van that was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 402 in Sarnia on Wednesday.

Three tractor trailers and a commercial van were involved in a chain-reaction collision at around 3:25 p.m. near the Christina Street exit.

Lambton OPP said Mykhaylo Boychuk of Hamlin, New York was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two transport truck drivers were taken to Sarnia hospital with minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours and reopened early Thursday morning.

The OPP continue to investigate.

Police are asking anyone who witnesses the crash to call them at 519-882-1011 or 1-888-310-1122.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
