Switch flipped for 35th Celebration of Lights Saturday

Sarnia's Centennial Park will be lit up Saturday night, as the switch is flipped to kick off the 35th annual Celebration of Lights.

Front St. will be closed starting at 2 p.m. and the opening celebration gets underway at 4 p.m.

It features food, live music, horse and trolley rides, face painting, fireworks, and a visit from Santa Claus.

There are over 30 displays this year, including the return of Snoopy and the Red Baron.

The arch was installed last Friday, and the lights were put up with help from community volunteers.

Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. to flip the switch, followed by a fireworks display.

The lights will be lit every night until January 1.
