Police investigate Mitton Village stabbing

City police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 22-year-old Sarnia man on assault with a weapon and aggravated assault charges.

Cst. John Sottosanti said police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Mitton Street South early Sunday morning after an altercation broke out between three men and moved onto the front of the property.

One man was stabbed and sent to a London hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Friends who came to the aid of the victim said a suspect and unknown male fled in a dark coloured Jeep Cherokee, which was later located.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Nicholas Edward Bailey, or who can identify the other man involved, is asked to call Detective Johann Lewis at 519-344-8861 extension 6200, or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
