Cashier pepper-sprayed during robbery

A gas bar attendant was treated after being pepper-sprayed during a robbery around midnight Sunday.

Sarnia police said a male suspect wearing grey gloves, a black winter coat with a hoodie and a mask entered the Petro Canada Gas Bar on UBE Drive, demanding cash.

Police said surveillance photos show the suspect pepper spraying the victim, before leaving in a dark coloured single cab pickup truck heading south on Airport Road.

The cashier did not sustain any long-lasting effects from the pepper spray.

The Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit is appealing to the public for help in this matter.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
