Arrests made after fight leads to stabbing

Two men have been arrested in connection with a brawl in Sarnia that led to one person being stabbed.

The Sarnia Police Service said 22-year-old Nicholas Edward Bailey of Sarnia turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest after the stabbing over the weekend.  As well, 53-year-old Kevin Blair Plain of Sarnia was also identified and arrested by police on Tuesday.  Both men are charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Sunday when two men attended a house on South Mitton Street near Talfourd Street and a fight broke out with the residents in the home.  The fight continued to the front yard of the house and across the road. During the brawl, a male victim was stabbed and the two men left the scene in a dark coloured SUV, which was later located by police.

The victim had to be taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He remained in hospital on Wednesday.

Anyone with further information regarding this incident is asked to call Detective Constable Johann Lewis at 519-344-8861 ext. 6200, or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
