Drivers arrested on impaired driving related charges

Sarnia police arrested four drivers on impaired driving-related charges between Friday and Saturday.

All arrests happened within just over a six hours span.

The first arrest happened on Friday evening at 8:22 p.m. A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offenses after police responded to a vehicle collision. A truck had left the roadway and travelled on to the front yard of a home, taking out a fence in the process.

The second arrest happened on Friday evening at 10:22 p.m. A 33-year-old woman was stopped on Christina Street and was arrested and charged with impaired driving relating offenses after Sarnia police responded to citizen’s complaints of a woman's driving in Canatara Park.

The third arrest happened on Saturday morning at 1:21 a.m. A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offenses after Sarnia Police responded to a man allegedly passed out in his vehicle on the roadway on Michigan Avenue.

The final arrest happened on Saturday morning at 3:34 a.m. A 27-year-old man was arrested on impaired driving-related charges after police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Capel Street.

Sarnia police advise residents that there is no excuse for driving after consuming alcohol and/or drugs and getting behind the wheel of their vehicle.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
