New oncologist at Bluewater Health

Bluewater Health has a new oncologist.

Wyoming native Dr. Julie Lebert has joined the cancer care team at the hospital.

She completed her medical degree at the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University, where she graduated top of her class and she specialized in Medical Oncology at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Dr. Lebert also has a Master's degree in Chemical Biology.

"Oncology and the care of cancer patients is my passion," said Dr. Lebert. "I am excited to be able to return to Sarnia-Lambton as part of Bluewater Health's cancer care team and to provide local access to the best and most current cancer treatments. Cancer care is rapidly evolving and, now more than ever, developing a relationship with patients is important in order to establish the best treatment plan for each individual."

Chief of Staff Dr. Michel Haddad said they're very excited to welcome Dr. Lebert aboard.

"She will be joining Dr. Yoshida, basically we'll have two oncologists now in the cancer clinic, and Dr. Lebert will be looking after patients with various cancers, cancer diagnosis such as colon cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, etc," he said.

Dr. Haddad said they continue to look for various specialties to support Bluewater Health's services.

"We're looking for more emergency physicians and anesthesia and ear, nose and throat, we're also looking for an extra psychiatrist, these are the main ones," he said.
