Dog bites man in Thedford

Lambton Public Health is searching for a dog that bit a man in Thedford Sunday.

Public Health Inspector Vicky MacTavish said the incident happened around 2 p.m. on December 8, in the area of the Legacy Arena and baseball diamonds.

The large, black and brown dog, possibly a German Shepherd mix, was seen by the victim walking unattended on the street.

Anyone with information relating to the location of the dog and its owner is asked to call the health unit at 519-383-8331 or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.

MacTavish said if the dog is not found, the man will require post-exposure rabies shots.
