Dump truck destroyed in Confederation shed fire

An electrical failure in a dump truck sparked a large drive shed fire Thursday morning.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue responded at around 5 a.m. to the 1700 block of Confederation Line.

Fire Prevention Officer Roel Bus said a damage estimate isn't available yet.

"So it was fire inside of a drive shed, a big dump truck was parked inside, the dump truck had an electrical failure and started a fire engine compartment, and then it passed on into the cab and actually into the box a little bit too, but it was hot inside, and got into a little bit of the structure of the building."

There were no injuries.

Confederation Line between Blackwell Side Road and Ronald Bloore Drive reopened to traffic just after 1 p.m.
