Weekend fire under investigation

A fire at a south end Sarnia home Saturday night has been deemed suspicious.

Sarnia Fire Prevention Officer Roel Bus said firefighters responded to a structure fire, at around 9:30 p.m. on Emma Street.

"It was a single-detached two-storey home," said Bus. "The fire was contained primarily to the outside with some extension to the attic of an addition. The fire is believed to have started outside with a potential intentional ignition."

Damage is estimated at over $200,000.

Bus said no injuries were reported and the family made it out of the home safely.

Sarnia police are investigating.
