Petrolia YMCA closed Thursday due to pool sensor failure

The Petrolia YMCA on Tank Street is closed Thursday.

There was a pool level sensor failure in the therapy pool overnight which caused some pooling of water in the lobby, change rooms, offices and part of the wellness centre.

Water has been shut off to the area, and a restoration team is on-site to clean up the water and dry the facility.

Repairs will be made Thursday, and staff expect the facility to re-open at 5:30 a.m. Friday.

The YMCA said there may be some minor inconveniences in the Wellness Centre Friday morning as they have pulled back some flooring to allow for proper drying.

At this time, damage to the facility isn't expected to be serious because most of the water impacted hard-floor areas. Some minor office furniture damage is expected.
