Strangway inviting residents to find a new hobby

The Strangway Community Centre is hosting a New Year, New Hobbies open house Saturday.

The free event highlights the different programs available at the East Street facility.

Activities Programmer Rebecca Mills said the centre runs over 70 different programs a year, from language classes to day trips, table tennis, exercise classes, yoga and card games.

"All of our programming is open to adults 20 years and up," said Mills. "If you're 50 plus you can get a membership and that entitles you to discounts on our programs."

Mills said residents can also tour the center Saturday and watch program demonstrations.

The free open house is on from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
