Former Legionnaire playing in ECHL All-Star Classic

A former Sarnia Legionnaire will be playing in the upcoming ECHL All-Star Classic.

Josh Kestner, who now plays for the Toledo Walleye, will suit up for the Western Conference on January 22 in Wichita, Kansas.

The 26-year-old leads Toledo with 17 goals and also its top point producer at 38 through 32 games played.

His 38 points are tied for fifth among all ECHL players.

Earlier this season, he posted a season-high 11 game point streak from October 19 through November 15. The Huntsville, Alabama native currently ranks third on the Walleye with a plus 13 rating.

The Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic will feature a three-on-three tournament with four teams competing for the top spot.

Kestner had a very successful GOJHL career with the Legionnaires from 2012-2014. In two seasons, he scored 59 goals and 113 points over 91 games.

Kestner also played four seasons at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

He had a brief stint with the AHL's Toronto Marlies and spent last season with the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers.
