Sting deal Tabak to Colts for picks

For the second straight year, the Sarnia Sting have made a trade involving forward Anthony Tabak.

The Sting dealt Tabak to the Barrie Colts Wednesday, nearly one year to the day after acquiring the Oakville native from Sudbury. Heading back to Sarnia is Erie's third-round pick in 2022, and Barrie's fourth and fifth-round selections in 2021.

In 39 games this season with Sarnia, the 18-year-old Tabak has eight goals and 19 assists. During his three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, the NHL draft-eligible Tabak has totalled 17 goals and 39 assists in 150 games played.

On Tuesday, the Sting made another deal, sending goaltender Jordan Kooy to the Oshawa Generals for three draft picks.

The 2020 OHL Trade Deadline is January 9 for overage players and January 10 for all other players.
