Sarnia driver charged with impaired after vehicle hits pole

A 24-year-old Sarnia man faces an impaired driving charge following a collision in Point Edward early Sunday morning.

Lambton OPP responded to the 1400 block of Venetian Boulevard at around 2:20 a.m. after a vehicle struck and snapped a hydro pole.

While speaking with the driver, the officer determined that he had recently consumed alcohol, and at that time, a roadside screening device was administered.

The man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs.

The accused has a court date set for February 3.
