Shell testing Emergency Notification System

Shell is in the process of finalizing upgrades to its Emergency Notification System.

The company said it will be pre-testing it over the next two weeks, starting January 13 until January 24, to ensure the equipment is operating properly.

"Based on the results of these preliminary tests, a final more extensive commissioning period will be planned for later in the year to test the various codes and training procedures associated with the new system," said External Relations Advisor Bryant Bird.

He said while the upgrades are occurring on-site, the alarms and recorded messages may be heard beyond Shell's fence line.

Information on the activities will be updated on the Community Awareness and Emergency Response Line.
