Sarnia man arrested in Toronto murder

A Sarnia man wanted in connection with a New Year's Eve murder in Toronto was arrested in Sarnia Monday.

At around 10 a.m. officers from the vice and intelligence units, the emergency response team, and Criminal Investigation Division arrested Kedar Guerra at Northgate Plaza.

The 38-year-old was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the Toronto Police Service.

A search warrant for related evidence was executed at the suspect's home in the 100 block of Water Street. Officers cleared the scene by 1:50 p.m.

Toronto police responded to gunshots in the Neilson Road and Crow Trail area at around 6:15 p.m. on December 31. Clinton Phil Williams, 43, of Toronto, was shot after walking into an underground parking lot and later died in hospital.

Police identified three suspects, one from Sarnia and two from the Toronto area.

The Toronto homicide squad also executed search warrants Monday and arrested two Toronto men, aged 20 and 33.

All three are charged with first-degree murder.

Toronto police say two handguns were seized.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
