Retired longtime city police officer dies

A retired longtime Sarnia police officer has died.

Bert Sheane, who retired with the rank of inspector after 32 years of service with the city police force, passed away Saturday.

He was a member of the RCAF Association and a charter member of the Huron Shores Optimist Club.

Friends and family are invited to an open house Celebration of Life at the Smith Family Centre at the Smith Funeral Home on London Line this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Sheane was 85.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
