Police arrest man in Lambton Mall takedown

A 24-year-old Sarnia man is facing drug and weapons charges after being arrested by city police at Lambton Mall Tuesday morning.

At around 10 a.m., members of the COPPS Unit were trying to find a wanted man in the 1400 block of Exmouth Street.

After spotting the suspect leaving a residence, police said the man dropped a bag, and ran into a store in the mall. He was taken to the ground by officers and arrested after a struggle.

Police said quantities of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine were seized, along with a folding flick knife.

Justin Alexander Elipani, 24, has been held pending a bail hearing on two counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a judicial release. He's also charged with resisting a peace officer, possession of a prohibited device, and carrying a concealed weapon.
