Dream of brew house comes to a head this weekend

A group of local homebrewers is ready to share its suds with the community.

Imperial City Brew House opens this weekend ahead of a grand opening on February 8.

Four co-owners started the dream seven years ago, and have since transformed the former XS Cargo on Exmouth Street into a craft beer destination.

Co-owner Kyle Blandford said they have four beers available now.

"We got a lager, it's fizzy and it's delicious," said Blandford. "We got a pilsner that we dry hop, it's all German grains and hops. We have an Irish stout that we are serving on Nitrogen, that's my favourite beer and a Canadian pale ale, all Canadian grains and Ontario hops."

The space at 1330 Exmouth St. also features a taproom and retail area.

Imperial City Brew House is open from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
