New Harvey's planned in Sarnia

Building activity in Sarnia is off to a better start than last year.

City hall issued 25 permits last month with a total value of just over $5.2 million, compared to just under $3 million in January 2019.

The largest permit of nearly $1.2 million was for a new Harvey's restaurant at 81 Ube Drive.

There were four permits issued for single-family homes in Sarnia, up from one in January last year.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
