OPP arrest unlicenced teen, seize pot

A 15-year-old from Petrolia faces several charges after allegedly driving around unlicenced in an uninsured vehicle with three passengers and cannabis in the cabin.

Lambton OPP were conducting patrol near LCCVI high school in Petrolia Tuesday when they spotted a driver and conducted a traffic stop.

In addition to the driver being under age, police say the vehicle was unfit for the road and had no validation tag.

The suspect is charged with driving a motor vehicle with no licence, no insurance and no validated permit, operating an unsafe vehicle, driving with cannabis readily available, and possessing cannabis while under the age of 19.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
