High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The City of Sarnia is hosting a COVID-19 community news conference and information session Tuesday.
Lambton County, Lambton Public Health, and Bluewater Health are also participating in the online event that begins at 10:30 a.m.
It will be streamed live on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/cityofsarnia/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARAFYsDYoznkOI-HmFwv20uIEToa0yg6HB1A-F0-P9YX6oivZ3_qIkBoiFxSTNJsix676evV7H9aAuXs">City of Sarnia</a> and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sarniapolice/">Sarnia Police Service Facebook</a> pages.
Mayor Mike Bradley, Warden Bill Weber, Lambton Medical Officer of Health Dr. Sudit Ranade, and Bluewater Health Chief of Staff Dr. Michel Haddad will be the four main speakers. 
Other city staff will also be on hand to help answer questions from members of various media outlets.
