Local doc offering e-learning to maintain well-being during isolation

A local doctor is doing his part to help residents stay mentally and physically fit during these times of social distancing due to COVID-19.

Dr. Blake Pearson is launching a live e-learning series with help from experts in the fields of medicine, fitness, nutrition, and relationships.

During the first session on Wednesday, April 8, Dr. Pearson will be joined by Adam Vanhoogenhuize from O2 Fuel.

The discussion will centre around boosting your immune system, managing pain, and adding more activity into your day.

Dr. Pearson said everyone who is in isolation could use a bit of a boost.

"A lot of times I get asked 'what can I do to protect myself from COVID?'" he said. "The answer is pretty simple and it revolves around these areas. So keeping good physical health, eating a healthy diet, and lowering your stress levels can all be beneficial in protecting yourself against the virus and for your overall health as well."

The free virtual event is being held from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

For more information and to register, go to www.drblakepearson.org/events.

Depending on public interest, Dr. Pearson said he'll continue to run the seminars as long as we’re in isolation mode.
