COVID-19 patient gets to go home after 31 days

There was a celebration at Bluewater Health in Sarnia Friday.

One of the hospital's first COVID-19 patients was sent home after spending 31 days battling the virus.

81-year-old Alex Kapteyn, who was a driver for the Red Cross for many years, was greeted at the exit by cheering staff and a parade of honking support vehicles.

The hospital has posted a heartwarming video on its Facebook page.
