UPDATE: Police investigate weapons call, shelter in place ended

Residents and businesses in and around Aamjiwnaang First Nation were asked to shelter in place for a brief period Tuesday afternoon, due to an active police investigation.

Sarnia police said they responded to a weapons-related call on Scott Road, just north of Lasalle Line, just before 4 p.m.

A shelter in place was ordered at around 4:30 p.m. for residents within three kilometres of the intersection as well as residents of Froomfield and Aamjiwnaang.

The order was ended at about 5 p.m.
