Sarnia police seize over $100K in drugs

Sarnia police seized over $100,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop on London Line near Blackwell Road at around 6:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Vice Unit officers were conducting a drug investigation involving a suspect from the Greater Toronto Area who was allegedly trafficking large amounts of various drugs into the City of Sarnia.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up 86 grams of cocaine, 6.24 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 209.6 grams of fentanyl powder, and 233 grams of marijuana.

The total estimated street value of the drugs is $117,919.

Prince Okyere Asante, 29, was taken into custody, pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
