Driver charged in Mother's Day crash in Corunna

A 50-year-old Sarnia man is charged with impaired driving following a Mother's Day crash in Corunna.

On May 10 at about 7:25 p.m., Lambton OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Murray Street and then stopped a suspect vehicle about 20 minutes later on Albert Street.

Police said the driver was searched and cannabis was found. He was taken to the Lambton OPP detachment for a drug recognition evaluation.

Charges of operating a motor vehicle while impaired, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, and driving without a licence were laid.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
