Courtright man dies after SUV collides with motorcycle

A 60-year-old man from the Courtright area has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV in St. Thomas Saturday afternoon.

St. Thomas police responded to the area of Sunset Drive near Wilson Avenue at around 4:30 p.m.

Police said preliminary investigation indicates that the SUV travelling southbound, crossed the centre line into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, from the Courtright area, was transported to St. Thomas hospital where he was pronounced dead, while his passenger, a 22-year-old female, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 59-year-old St. Thomas woman, was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Police continue to investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
