Check of parked vehicle leads to drug seizure

A 26-year-old man faces drug trafficking charges after Anishinabek police checked on a vehicle parked along Ipperwash Road in Lambton Shores early Monday.

The vehicle check at about 12:19 a.m. resulted in officers from the Kettle Point Detachment locating suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl along with drug packaging material.

Police said the man in the vehicle was known to them and was in breach of a probation order.

Karl Pilz Jr. is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of breach of probation.

He was released on a promise to appear in court on July 29.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
