Drugs worth $13K seized in Point Edward hotel room bust

Sarnia police seized nearly $13,000 worth of drugs from a Point Edward hotel room Wednesday night.

At around 8 p.m., Vice Unit officers preparing to execute a search warrant on Venetian Boulevard, watched a male suspect allegedly conduct a drug deal outside the hotel.

Sarnia police arrested the man and a woman who was inside the hotel room.

Searches of the male suspect and the room allegedly led to the seizure of .26 grams of cocaine, 85.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 10 grams of fentanyl and 54 oxycodone tablets with a total street value of $12,928, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Police said Richard William Emery, 39, of Sarnia and Caylie Rhianno White, 37, of Petrolia both face three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a release order.

Emery is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both remained in custody awaiting bail hearings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
