Sarnia police make impaired driving arrests, officers nearly struck

Sarnia police made arrests in two impaired driving incidents this week including one that saw officers nearly struck by a vehicle.

Just before 1 a.m. Friday, police were completing an investigation in the 800 block of St. Clair Parkway and were returning to their cruisers.

A vehicle began drifting toward them and officers had to jump up against the police cruiser to avoid being struck.

Police stopped the vehicle a short time later and arrested the driver who allegedly failed a roadside breath test and an intoxilyzer test at the police station.

A 21-year-old Sarnia man is charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80 milligrams.

On Thursday at around 2:15 a.m., officers were called to Canatara Park where they spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Lake Chipican Drive.

Police stopped the vehicle, and the driver allegedly failed a roadside breath test.

She was taken to police headquarters and allegedly blew over the legal limit.

A 19-year-old woman from London is charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80 milligrams.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
