Cyclist sent to hospital following collision with alleged impaired driver

A 30-year-old Corunna man faces impaired driving and drug possession charges and a cyclist was sent to hospital with minor injuries, following a collision in St. Clair Township Sunday morning.

Lambton OPP and EMS responded to the intersection of Fane Street and Lyndoch Street at around 8:15 a.m.

Police said the driver of the motor vehicle was showing signs of impairment, and that following a search of the suspect and vehicle, police located drug paraphernalia. A further search of two other occupants located suspected meth, leading to the arrest of all three parties.

Along with the suspect from Corunna, police charged a 26-year-old from Aamjiwnaang First Nation with possession and failing to comply with an undertaking. A 25-year-old from St. Clair Township is also charged with possession.

All accused are scheduled to appear in court this summer.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
