COVID claims 25th life in Sarnia-Lambton

The death-toll from COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton climbed one to 25 Saturday night in the latest update from Lambton Public Health.

The latest death is linked to an outbreak at Vision Nursing Home.

It marks the third community death connected to COVID-19 this week, after two residents from Vision Nursing Home passed away, on Monday and Tuesday. The Sarnia long-term care facility is the lone active institutional outbreak across Sarnia-Lambton, where 51 people have tested positive, including ten related deaths.

The local COVID caseload increased one to 268 over the past 24 hours, while the number of recovered is unchanged at 223.

On Saturday morning, Bluewater Health reported that 11 patients in hospital have tested positive for COVID-19, 21 patients are suspected to have the virus with tests pending, and 18 patients have died from COVID-19.
