Man and woman charged with drug trafficking, weapons offences

A man and a woman face drug trafficking and weapons charges following an incident in Lambton Shores early Tuesday.

At 12:17 a.m., Anishinabek police officers saw a man and woman biking on Lakeshore Road.

Police said the man, known to be on numerous probation conditions including a curfew, fled on foot and was arrested after a brief foot chase.

The fleeing man allegedly threw a bag that contained 12 baggies of suspected methamphetamine, one baggie with seven unknown pills, several baggies of dried marijuana, scales, cash, several small knives and two black BB handguns.

Karl Pilz, 26, of Kettle Point faces numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of break-in instruments, resisting arrest and breach of probation.

Emily Robinson, 21, of Lambton Shores is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Pilz appeared in bail court Tuesday and was remanded in custody.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
