Rees and Perreault invited to Team Canada U-20 camp

A pair Sarnia Sting forwards can make their case to be on Team Canada’s national junior team during a virtual development camp next month.

Jamieson Rees and Jacob Perreault are among the 41 players invited to the Hockey Canada camp, set for July 27-31.

Rees, 19, will be taking part in the camp for a second straight year after failing to crack Canada's roster in 2019.

The Carolina Hurricanes prospect scored 18 goals and added 43 assists in 39 games last season with the Sting.

Perreault, 18, participated in Hockey Canada's U-18 selection camp last summer but was left off of Canada’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup team.

In his second season with the Sting, Perrault led the team in goals with 39 and was second in team scoring with 70 points in 57 games.

The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship begins this December, with Edmonton and Red Deer set to co-host the annual event.
