Local COVID cases unchanged

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton remained the same Saturday.

The Lambton Health Unit reported Friday night that there were 281 cases with the number of recoveries up one at 241.

In it's daily update Saturday, Bluewater Health reported that there were no patients currently in hospital with the virus while 30 were suspected of having it with tests pending.

There are two institutional outbreaks - at Afton Park Place where a staff member recently tested positive, and at Bluewater Health where three staff members were diagnosed and were isolating at home.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
