Sting prospects invited to Hockey Canada's virtual U-17 camp

Two Sarnia Sting 2020 draft prospects will take part in Hockey Canada's virtual U-17 national development camp.

Second and third round picks Matthew Morden and Ryder McIntyre are among 113 players invited to the camp July 19-25.

Players will be split into six teams for the week-long virtual camp, participating in a variety of sessions with a focus on player development through online education.

Morden had five goals and 16 assists in 33 games with the Toronto Titans this past season. He also had an assist in one game with the OJHL’s Burlington Cougars.

McIntyre had 24 goals and 17 assists in 36 games for the Ajax Pickering Raiders this past season. He signed a standard player agreement with the Sting in May.

The 2020 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge is scheduled to take place in Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I., in November.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
