Sarnia woman charged with pointing replica handgun

A 44-year-old Sarnia woman is facing weapons charges for allegedly pointing a replica handgun at a man during an altercation Wednesday night.

At about 9:25 p.m. city police officers responded to the 200 block of Brock Street South.

Police allege the suspect threatened a man with a firearm because she didn't like the way he was driving.

An arrest was made a short distance away, and a black replica revolver-style CO2 handgun was allegedly found hidden in the back of the suspect's pants.

Leeann Lynn Martel is charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

She was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
