Longtime Sarnia journalist dies

A longtime Sarnia journalist has died.

John David "J.D." Booth passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 25 at the age of 67.

J.D. graduated from Eastern Michigan University majoring in political science and journalism, where he became an exceptionally talented writer and communication professional.

He was well known in Sarnia-Lambton, founding the local news site and magazine ‘Lambton Shield’.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Canada and Lighthouse Community Church.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
