Police search uncovers drugs, stolen gun

Two people are facing a long list of drug and firearm charges after Sarnia police executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 200 block of Finch Drive.

Sarnia Police Vice Unit officers searched the unit Wednesday as part of cocaine trafficking investigation.

Police said a man and woman were inside at the time, and officers seized cocaine, LSD and codeine as well as a stolen .22 caliber handgun and a large quantity of ammunition.

Jesse Anthony Alfano, 32, of Hamilton is charged with:

1. Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine

2. Possession of a controlled substance – LSD

3. Possession of a controlled substance – codeine

4. Careless storage of firearm

5. Careless storage of ammunition

6. Unauthorized possession of firearm

7. Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

8. Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

9. Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

10. Possession of property obtained by crime

Michelle Anne Poirier, 32, of Sarnia is charged with:

1. Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine

2. Possession of a controlled substance – LSD

3. Possession of a controlled substance – codeine

4. Careless storage of firearm

5. Careless storage of ammunition

6. Unauthorized possession of firearm

7. Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

8. Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

9. Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

10. Possession of property obtained by crime

11. Failing to comply with a release order x3

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
