Red Cross accepting monetary donations for blast-ravaged Beirut

The Canadian Red Cross is accepting donations for desperately needed relief in blast-ravaged Beirut.

The Red Cross is appealing for monetary donations to help provide emergency medical services, shelter, food, and water.

Tuesday's devastating explosion in the port facility of the Lebanese capital has killed over 150 people, injured thousands, and has left over 250,000 people homeless.

Donated funds will also help ensure first responders have personal protective equipment.

Sarnia area residents can donate to the Lebanon Humanitarian Needs Appeal online at www.redcross.ca or by phone at 1-800-418-1111.

Donations are also being accepted at the Red Cross branch on East Street.
