Damage in Thedford row house fire nears $500K

Damage is estimated at nearly $500,000 in a structure fire Thursday night in Thedford.

Thedford, Arkona and Northville firefighters responded to a row house complex on Deacon Street, shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Lambton Shores Fire Chief Lawrence Swift said the blaze started in an unoccupied unit and spread to a neighbouring unit. Two other units sustained damage to the exterior siding as well.

Swift said no injuries were reported.

"There were two people in the neighbouring unit and the other two units within the complex were occupied, all of them were evacuated safely," said Swift.

Swift said the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has been notified.
