House fire on Court Street causes $200K in damage

Fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to a house in the 800 block of Court Street Monday night.

Sarnia Fire & Rescue said the call went in at about 10:20 p.m. after one of the occupants arrived home to find smoke in the residence.

Fifteen firefighters from three stations responded to the area, just east of Colborne Road north of Highway 402, and were able to quickly find and extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries and the cause was determined to be electrical in nature.

Sarnia Fire & Rescue is reminding residents that working smoke alarms save lives.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
